The Breadfruit Tree is most known in the Pacific and well known in Hawaii.
According to Hawaiian myth the Hawaiian God Ku’ chose to live secretly amongst mortals and start a family. When his island came under famine, he said to his wife that he can alleviate the famine, but he must go away. He then descended into the ground where his wife watered the very earth where he descended every day from which grew a Breadfruit Tree. This amazing tree is versatile in so many ways from being edible 7 months of the year and can be cooked many ways, a hardy tree and has many health benefits.
Also used for making canoes, bowls and plates throughout history. The bark traditionally was used in fabric for clothing, the flowers used as repellent and the list goes on.
The Breadfruit tree represents unity, and a coming together. To embrace the fruit of your labour and we are so much more than what we think we are. We have so much more to give, and it is cut short by our thoughts and perception.
We were drawn to this stand for inspiration for a remembrance that we contain all that we ever need and desire, we just must dig bit deeper within and look below the surface. We are forever expanding on all levels and layers of existence.
