Formed from the fossilised resin of ancient tropical trees, Amber Continuum captures a moment in time that predates modern existence, an organic record of life preserved in golden light. This extraordinary specimen represents one of the largest and most pristine pieces within our collection, its elongated wand form tapering delicately towards a thinner end where several small spiders, insects, and possibly termites remain perfectly encased within.

Each inclusion is a testament to nature’s precision, delicate structures of legs, wings, and filaments preserved in exquisite detail. Over thousands of years, resin exuded from ancient trees enveloped these tiny life forms, sealing them in an oxygen-free environment that halted decay. Through slow polymerisation, that resin hardened into Copal Amber a transitional form between young resin and true fossilised amber  preserving these ancient organisms with remarkable clarity.

The colour ranges from honey-gold to deep cognac, refracting light like liquid sunlight through glass. Its condition is exceptional: free of fractures, polished to reveal both internal structure and depth of tone. 🌀 Fossils

Fossils are life forms of either plants or animals that have been captured within an impression and preserved usually within the sedimentary rocks. Another type of fossil is resin fossilization where insects and plants are embedded within amber.

Most fossils are just casings or cavities of what was, and the soft parts of the animals and plants are rarely preserved due to certain salts and minerals breaking down the organic matter within.

Now another type of fossil can be completely replaced by an imprint or impression of the original shell, animal or plant within sedimentary rock or hard rock such as petrified wood.

Lastly a process called mineralization, is where an entire cavity can be completely replaced meaning if it was a shell, it would have completely dissolved. Through this process certain acids and solutions penetrate the cavity and form a new matrix within the cavity creating a 3D version of the shell itself.
