Golden Waves of Amber is a captivating specimen that captures movement, warmth, and preservation in perfect harmony. This piece radiates a deep, honeyed brilliance with its surface forming natural, tiered patterns that resemble golden ripples frozen in time.

Near the centre rests a beautifully preserved beetle, its body intact and clearly defined, surrounded by faint traces of smaller insects captured in the surrounding layers. These subtle inclusions appear to float within the resin, creating the illusion of motion beneath stillness, a natural sculpture formed through thousands of years of patient transformation.

Originally exuded as resin from ancient tropical trees, the material gradually enveloped and preserved everything it touched. Through slow polymerisation and partial fossilisation, it became Copal Amber, a transitional resin that bridges life and geology.

The gentle waves of structure and light that flow across this piece are entirely natural, formed as the resin hardened in layers, each one preserving a moment in time. The clarity and depth of colour within this specimen are exceptional, giving it a rich, molten glow that speaks of sunlight solidified.

🌀 Fossils

Fossils are life forms of either plants or animals that have been captured within an impression and preserved usually within the sedimentary rocks. Another type of fossil is resin fossilization where insects and plants are embedded within amber.

Most fossils are just casings or cavities of what was, and the soft parts of the animals and plants are rarely preserved due to certain salts and minerals breaking down the organic matter within.

Now another type of fossil can be completely replaced by an imprint or impression of the original shell, animal or plant within sedimentary rock or hard rock such as petrified wood.

Lastly a process called mineralization, is where an entire cavity can be completely replaced meaning if it was a shell, it would have completely dissolved. Through this process certain acids and solutions penetrate the cavity and form a new matrix within the cavity creating a 3D version of the shell itself.
