Sometimes we find a piece.

And sometimes we decide the piece should exist and ask someone to make it. 😂

This little creation began during our latest buying trip to China when we visited one of our favourite ladies, the same talented maker who creates the beautiful adjustable woven necklaces we pair with our reverse-etched pendants.

We had originally gone to see her to immerse ourselves in colours, cords and designs while working out potential new combinations for our pendants.

Somewhere amongst all of that, Niome and I disappeared into a bit of a creative bubble.

Not physically, obviously. We were still standing there surrounded by cord. 🤣

We have always loved turquoise and gold together, so we put an idea to her. Could she create us an adjustable bracelet using those two colours, with beautiful woven detailing through the centre and something a little different from the usual crystal bead bracelet?

She made us a sample and we returned the following day to see what she'd come up with.

And pretty much... this was it. 😍

A beautifully woven turquoise-blue cord bracelet, detailed with contrasting gold thread and intricate knotwork through the centre. We particularly love all those tiny details, from the braided cord itself to the wrapped gold sections and little knots that you don't fully appreciate until you look closely.

There was, however, one tiny problem.

Apparently our wrists had not been consulted. 🤣

The first adjustable version still wasn't quite generous enough to accommodate the range of wrist sizes we wanted, so out came the measurements. We gave her the sizing we use for our own bracelet range and had the design adjusted specifically for us.

The finished bracelet is now designed to accommodate approximately our usual Small through Large wrist sizing, with a little extra adjustment either way thanks to the sliding closure.

And that's one of our favourite things about sourcing directly in China.

Sometimes it isn't about finding something sitting on a table ready to buy. It's meeting the people behind the work, sharing ideas, changing things, fixing the bits that don't quite work and eventually creating something that didn't exist when you walked through the door.

Simple, adjustable and incredibly easy to wear, with that beautiful turquoise and gold combination we fell in love with from the beginning.

A little piece of China, a little piece of us, and a lovely collaboration with a maker whose work we've already come to know and trust. 🩵✨

Lovely bracelet

Lovely bracelet. As expected, mine varies from the one pictured with different colour arrangement. I bought the small size as per recommendedin the size chart and it is perfect. It comes on a transparent elasticised thread. The stones are faceted so catch the light. The green in the bracelet matches a ring I have so very happy with purchase. I will be careful to monitor the stretchy thread as previously I have found over time they can start to ‘perish’ and can break when over stretched to get on or off. My other bracelet lasted 10 years before this happened.
