Our Baltic Amber bracelets carry a warmth that feels almost alive in the hand. Each bead reveals the natural honey, golden, or cognac tones that have made amber one of the most treasured organic gemstones for thousands of years. Unlike crystalline minerals, amber began its journey as ancient tree resin that slowly hardened and fossilised over immense spans of time, preserving within it a small piece of Earth’s distant past.

Baltic Amber formed roughly 40–50 million years ago in vast prehistoric forests that once covered parts of northern Europe. Trees released sticky resin as a natural defence against insects and damage to their bark. Over time this resin dripped down trunks, collected on the forest floor, and was gradually buried beneath layers of sediment. As the landscape changed and the sediments transformed, the resin polymerised and fossilised into the amber we know today.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Baltic Amber is that it can sometimes preserve tiny moments from ancient ecosystems. In some pieces, fragments of plant material or small air bubbles remain trapped inside the hardened resin, offering a glimpse into forests that existed long before humans walked the Earth.

What sets Baltic Amber apart from other types of amber found around the world is its age and chemical composition. True Baltic Amber contains a compound called succinic acid, which forms as the resin matures over millions of years. This is one of the characteristics that geologists use to distinguish Baltic Amber from younger resins such as copal.

Because amber is fossilised resin rather than a crystalline mineral, it does not form within a crystal system. Instead it develops as organic material slowly transforms through time and pressure. This gives Baltic Amber its smooth texture, warm glow, and the beautiful range of colours that can shift from pale honey through deep golden cognac.

To preserve the integrity of the elastic, it's important to gently roll the bracelet onto your wrist instead of stretching it.

Regular exposure to water, chemicals, or extreme temperatures can degrade the elastic, so it's advisable to remove your bracelet before showering, swimming, or engaging in rigorous activities.

When not being worn, store the bracelet in a cool, dry place, preferably laid flat or on a soft cushion to prevent unnecessary stress on the elastic.

Avoid direct sunlight and harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage both the elastic and the beads. If the bracelet gets dirty, a gentle wipe with a damp cloth should suffice.
