🔮 Black Tourmaline: The Protector

❤️Root Chakra

Some mineral specimens are admired for their rarity. Others are admired for their beauty. Every now and then, a piece possesses both.

When Niome and I first encountered this remarkable Black Tourmaline specimen, it immediately separated itself from everything around it. Not because it was the largest specimen available, but because of its extraordinary crystal formation and unmistakable presence.

Sourced from the legendary Erongo Mountains of Namibia, one of the world's most celebrated mineral localities, this specimen showcases an exceptional arrangement of acicular Black Tourmaline crystals. Long lustrous rods rise through the formation while countless secondary crystals emerge throughout the structure, creating a striking display of natural crystal growth that reveals new details from every angle.

What makes this specimen particularly special is that it is not the Black Tourmaline itself that is rare. Black Tourmaline can be found in many parts of the world. What collectors seek are specimens with exceptional aesthetics, unusual crystal habits and strong display quality. This piece possesses all three.

Unlike many specimens that have a single display face, this formation remains captivating from every direction. The intricate crystal architecture, dramatic vertical growth and abundance of secondary acicular rods create a true three dimensional sculpture in nature. Whether viewed from the front, side or rear, the specimen continues to reveal complexity and character.

The contrast between the glossy black tourmaline and the white feldspar matrix further enhances the visual impact, highlighting the crystal growth and giving the specimen a naturally balanced appearance. It is this balance that often separates an attractive specimen from a truly memorable one.

Experienced collectors understand that the most sought after pieces are not always the largest or the rarest. They are the specimens that continue to draw your attention long after you have walked past them. The ones that stand apart from hundreds of others because of their form, structure and presence.

Mounted on a custom display stand, this specimen stands approximately 26cm high and weighs 626 grams. The stand was commissioned specifically to showcase the remarkable vertical formation and allow the specimen to be appreciated as both a collector mineral and a natural work of art.

One of the factors that adds to the desirability of this specimen is replacement difficulty. While another Black Tourmaline specimen can certainly be found, locating another example from the Erongo Mountains with this combination of size, crystal architecture, locality, display quality and sculptural form would be considerably more challenging.

This is the type of specimen that reminds us why the Erongo Mountains have earned such a respected reputation amongst mineral collectors worldwide.

A striking collector specimen chosen for its aesthetics, exceptional crystal formation and undeniable presence.

✨ Collectors Piece

🌠✨ Unique & Collectible ✨🌠

For Collectors of rare and unique crystals and for anyone that likes beautiful pieces around the home to add to the beauty and energy of your space.

Niome and I have been delving deeper and deeper into this part of our business for our own pleasure and collection but also for you to add to yours.

We spend countless hours developing relationships and connections with all our suppliers who are aligned with our love for all things crystal and through this process we have been able to acquire some amazing, beautiful pieces.

For us, collectible crystals are not an outlay but rather an investment. Whether the investment is for staging and uplevelling your homes energy, your energy and your homes décor or you see the value within a piece itself.

A piece that you may see today for a certain price may be a completely different price in 5-10 years’ time as everything comes to an end at some point, even certain varieties of crystals. This has been said to both Niome and myself from various friends within the industry and we have taken note.

Then there are crystals that have a delicate structure like Scolecite with their acicular fine needles shooting out from their matrix. Such delicate specimens and when you think about first the care within the handling that’s gone into first mining them, to then shipping them all around the world, my hat goes off to them.

The pieces we have in stock are pieces that truly have been cared for through all the processes it took for them to reach us.

Here are a few things to consider and even research when looking at collectible crystals for yourself -

The size of a certain crystal can be a factor as to whether it’s considered a collectible piece and can vary depending on the crystal type.

larger pieces have been around for a lot longer so to find a larger piece in a specific crystal can be an amazing investment. While smaller crystals depending on the stone itself might be of the rarer variety or the quality is outstanding, therefore it’s amazing it was even found.

If it is a fragile and delicate crystal and has not sustained any damage or minor damage.

Quality of course comes into it as you can have some amazing fluorite and then you have some beautiful gem like Fluorite which is quite rare, especially Blue Fluorite

Specific crystals formed and still on their matrix opposed to polished and carved pieces etc of the same crystal. This can be the game changer between an incredible piece and a collectible piece.

In the end it comes down to what you are drawn too and what is drawn to you. The bonus is when you buy a collectible crystal it becomes a physical investment and will only grow in value in the years to come.

What will your next investment be?
