Now this one is all about its incredible internal architecture. ✨

Beautifully clear Brazilian Quartz surrounds a striking network of natural internal veils, fractures and feather-like formations, creating a sphere that seems to change completely depending on the direction from which it is viewed.

Across the centre is a particularly dramatic internal formation that almost appears to sweep through the Quartz. Fine feathery textures branch away from larger crystalline planes, while exceptionally clear areas surrounding them allow light to travel deep into the sphere. The contrast between transparency and these bold internal structures gives this piece wonderful dimension.

These features are natural evidence of the Quartz's geological history. As Quartz grows within fractures and cavities in the Earth, changes in pressure, temperature and the surrounding environment can create internal fractures and growth features. Later mineral deposition and continued crystal growth may preserve these events inside the crystal.

And this sphere certainly knows what to do with light.

Along the internal fractures are beautiful areas of rainbow refraction. When light encounters these fine internal planes it can be dispersed into spectral colours, producing flashes that shift, disappear and reappear as the sphere is moved. Under a torch or strong natural light, there is an enormous amount to explore.

Quartz itself is crystalline silicon dioxide, SiO₂, belonging to the trigonal crystal system. Brazil is internationally known for producing exceptional Quartz, particularly material combining impressive transparency with complex natural internal features such as this.

From a metaphysical perspective, Clear Quartz has long been associated with clarity, amplification, intention and energetic focus. Internal rainbows are often symbolically connected with optimism, transformation and finding beauty through periods of change.

For me, however, the appeal of this sphere is just as much geological as metaphysical. Those dramatic internal formations are essentially chapters in the crystal's growth history, preserved inside beautifully clear Quartz and made visible simply because nature gave us a window straight through them.

There is something about a beautifully polished sphere that allows you to appreciate a crystal from every angle.
