Que Sera is one of those stones where the closer you look, the more there is to discover. With its wonderfully busy mixture of blues, greys, creams, earthy browns and occasional darker markings, every piece develops its own completely individual pattern.

“Que Sera” is a trade name rather than a single mineral species. The material is a naturally occurring rock composed of several minerals, commonly including feldspar, Quartz and other mineral components. It is this mixture that creates the mottled, almost abstract appearance for which Que Sera has become known.

Polishing the material into hearts really brings those contrasting areas to life. Patches of blue can sit beside creamy feldspar, translucent Quartz and darker earthy sections, with patterns changing completely as the heart is turned over. No two will ever be identical, which is a big part of their appeal.

The name Que Sera immediately brings to mind the expression “Que sera, sera”, or “whatever will be, will be”, and that sentiment has become beautifully intertwined with the metaphysical meaning attributed to the stone.

Metaphysically, Que Sera is associated with resilience, confidence, letting go of excessive worry and adapting to change. It carries a lovely symbolism of recognising what we can control, releasing what we cannot and having enough trust in ourselves to keep moving forward.
