🔮 Shungite: The Master Cleanser

❤️🧍🏠Root Chakra, overall body and environment

Ancient, grounding and beautifully understated, these Shungite spheres bring together one of the mineral world's more unusual natural materials with the balanced, continuous form of the sphere. Each is presented on a stand, making it easy to incorporate into a workspace, meditation area or home.

Shungite is an extremely old carbon-rich material, estimated to have formed around two billion years ago and found primarily in the Karelia region of Russia, particularly around Lake Onega. Its unusual composition has attracted both scientific interest and a strong following within the metaphysical community.

One of the most fascinating discoveries associated with Shungite has been the presence of fullerene-like carbon structures. Fullerenes are unusual arrangements of carbon atoms that can form hollow cage-like structures, with the best-known example resembling the geometric pattern of a soccer ball. Shungite has also been scientifically investigated for properties including adsorption, conductivity and water filtration.

The sphere is traditionally associated with wholeness, balance and unity. With no beginning or end, its symmetrical form is believed metaphysically to radiate energy evenly in every direction, making it particularly suited to placement within a room or workspace.

Metaphysically, Shungite is associated with grounding, protection, energetic cleansing and stability and is strongly connected with the Root Chakra. It has also become particularly popular for placement around computers, Wi-Fi routers and other electronic devices because of beliefs surrounding EMF protection. While these effects against everyday EMF exposure have not been scientifically established, many people continue to use Shungite in areas where technology is concentrated.

Displayed on its stand, a Shungite sphere makes a simple but striking addition to a desk, bedside table or meditation space, combining around two billion years of natural history with a form centred around balance and grounding.

Dark, minimal and quietly fascinating, this is one sphere that certainly has a lot going on beneath the surface. 🖤✨

🔮 Spheres

There is something about a beautifully polished sphere that allows you to appreciate a crystal from every angle.

Unlike a point or freeform, a sphere has no obvious front or back. Its rounded form allows the natural patterns, banding, inclusions, colour changes and internal features of the stone to continue around the entire piece, often revealing something completely different each time it is turned.

For collectors, spheres can be an incredible way to showcase the geology of a material. Highly included Quartz can become a miniature landscape, Fluorite can reveal layers of colour and zoning, while Agates and Jaspers can display patterns that wrap continuously around the stone.

The sphere itself has been used symbolically across many cultures, representing wholeness, unity, harmony and completeness due to its continuous form.

Metaphysically, crystal spheres are traditionally believed to radiate their energy evenly in all directions, making them popular for placing within a room, meditation space or crystal display. Smaller spheres can also be held comfortably in the palm during meditation or quiet reflection.

Whether chosen for its mineralogy, natural beauty, symbolism or simply because you cannot stop turning it around to see what is on the other side, a sphere is one of our favourite ways to experience a crystal.
