🔮 Lapis Lazuli: The Stone of Ancient Wisdom
💙🩵💛💚 Third eye, Throat, Solar plexus, Heart Chakras
A classic signet-inspired design paired with the unmistakable blue of natural Lapis Lazuli.
This men’s ring features a polished rectangular Lapis Lazuli set into Sterling Silver, with softly rounded corners and a clean bezel following the shape of the stone. A subtle textured border sits beneath the setting, adding a small amount of detail while allowing the Lapis itself to remain the focus.
The Sterling Silver shoulders are broad and substantial before tapering smoothly into the band, giving the ring a strong profile on the hand without unnecessary embellishment. It is a timeless design that works particularly well with the rich blue of Lapis Lazuli.
The stone itself has a beautiful, relatively even royal blue colouring with subtle natural variation and small mineral inclusions visible within the surface. Compared with some heavily Pyrite-flecked Lapis, this piece has a cleaner appearance that really showcases the intensity of the blue.
Lapis Lazuli is immediately recognisable for its rich colouring, which can range from deep royal and midnight blue through to brighter ultramarine tones. Natural pieces may also contain areas of white Calcite and metallic golden Pyrite, creating the individual variations for which Lapis has been admired for thousands of years.
Unlike a single mineral, Lapis Lazuli is actually a metamorphic rock composed predominantly of the blue mineral lazurite, commonly accompanied by Calcite, Pyrite and other minerals. The balance of these components gives every piece its own colour and character.
Its history is particularly fascinating.
Lapis Lazuli has been used for jewellery, carvings and decorative objects for thousands of years, with examples found among the cultures of ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. Finely ground Lapis was also historically used to create natural ultramarine, once one of the most valuable blue pigments available.
There is something quite fitting about using a stone with such a long jewellery history in a classic signet-style ring. The substantial Sterling Silver setting gives it a strong, traditional appearance, while the simplicity of the design keeps it very wearable.
Metaphysically, Lapis Lazuli is traditionally associated with wisdom, truth, confidence and self-expression. Connected with the Third Eye and Throat Chakras, it is often chosen for encouraging clear thinking, honest communication and trusting your own judgement.
A timeless addition to our first men’s ring collection, combining natural Lapis Lazuli, solid Sterling Silver styling and a design that should look just as good years from now as it does today.
