Some vendors are incredibly easy to walk away from.

This was not one of them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We actually discovered this specialised meteorite vendor on our previous buying trip to China and purchased from him then, so naturally we had to find our way back again this time.

His collection is extraordinary. Meteorites, impact material and fascinating specimens seem to fill every available space, including quite a few pieces that Niome and I would have happily taken home if money, luggage allowance and common sense weren't occasionally required. ๐Ÿ˜‚

There were pieces we bought, pieces we reluctantly left behind, and a few we will apparently just continue dreaming about until our next visit.

Among the pieces we selected this time were these natural raw Moldavite specimens, available in three different sizes and each accompanied by a complimentary specimen stand so the natural form of the material can be properly displayed.

Moldavite is one of the world's best-known tektites, formed approximately 14.8 million years ago following the enormous Ries impact in what is now southern Germany. The force of the impact melted terrestrial material and ejected it high into the atmosphere, where it cooled during flight before falling predominantly across areas of what is now the Czech Republic.

That extraordinary origin is what separates Moldavite from an ordinary green stone. It is natural impact glass created through one of the most dramatic geological events imaginable.

Raw Moldavite is particularly fascinating because its surface preserves the characteristic sculpting, grooves, pits and irregular textures for which the material is known. Rather than polishing those features away, these specimens allow the natural form of the Moldavite to remain the focus.

Colour can range through olive, forest and bottle greens, with translucency varying between specimens. Surface texture, shape, thickness and internal features will also naturally differ, meaning every piece has its own character.

While Moldavite itself is not a meteorite, it belongs very comfortably within the world of meteorites and impact material. Its formation is directly connected to a meteorite impact, which is one of the reasons we particularly like sourcing ours through a vendor who specialises in this field.

Metaphysically, Moldavite has developed quite the reputation. ๐Ÿ˜… It is traditionally associated with transformation, rapid personal growth, spiritual awareness and periods of significant change. Some people describe its energy as incredibly intense, while others are drawn to it simply because of its unusual appearance and extraordinary geological story.

For us, it is equally fascinating from a collector perspective.

You are holding a fragment of natural impact glass created almost 15 million years ago, from an event powerful enough to scatter this material hundreds of kilometres from the impact site.

Available in three size options, with each raw Moldavite specimen accompanied by a complimentary specimen stand.

And yes... returning to this vendor for a second time did absolutely nothing to cure us of wanting half his collection. ๐Ÿ˜‚โ˜„๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

โœจ Shape Meaning

๐ŸŒ โœจ Unique & Collectible โœจ๐ŸŒ

For Collectors of rare and unique crystals and for anyone that likes beautiful pieces around the home to add to the beauty and energy of your space.

Niome and I have been delving deeper and deeper into this part of our business for our own pleasure and collection but also for you to add to yours.

We spend countless hours developing relationships and connections with all our suppliers who are aligned with our love for all things crystal and through this process we have been able to acquire some amazing, beautiful pieces.

For us, collectible crystals are not an outlay but rather an investment. Whether the investment is for staging and uplevelling your homes energy, your energy and your homes dรฉcor or you see the value within a piece itself.

A piece that you may see today for a certain price may be a completely different price in 5-10 yearsโ€™ time as everything comes to an end at some point, even certain varieties of crystals. This has been said to both Niome and myself from various friends within the industry and we have taken note.

Then there are crystals that have a delicate structure like Scolecite with their acicular fine needles shooting out from their matrix. Such delicate specimens and when you think about first the care within the handling thatโ€™s gone into first mining them, to then shipping them all around the world, my hat goes off to them.

The pieces we have in stock are pieces that truly have been cared for through all the processes it took for them to reach us.

Here are a few things to consider and even research when looking at collectible crystals for yourself -

โœจ The size of a certain crystal can be a factor as to whether itโ€™s considered a collectible piece and can vary depending on the crystal type.

โœจ larger pieces have been around for a lot longer so to find a larger piece in a specific crystal can be an amazing investment. While smaller crystals depending on the stone itself might be of the rarer variety or the quality is outstanding, therefore itโ€™s amazing it was even found.

โœจ If it is a fragile and delicate crystal and has not sustained any damage or minor damage.

โœจ Quality of course comes into it as you can have some amazing fluorite and then you have some beautiful gem like Fluorite which is quite rare, especially Blue Fluorite

โœจ Specific crystals formed and still on their matrix opposed to polished and carved pieces etc of the same crystal. This can be the game changer between an incredible piece and a collectible piece.

In the end it comes down to what you are drawn too and what is drawn to you. The bonus is when you buy a collectible crystal it becomes a physical investment and will only grow in value in the years to come.

What will your next investment be?
